T-Mobile launching Android powered Samsung Vibrant on July 15th

T-Mobile USA has announced via its Twitter account that its Android powered Samsung Vibrant will be available on July 15th. Originally the carrier said that it would land on July 21st, so it sounds like it's coming a bit early. The Vibrant costs $199.99 with a 2-year contract and sports a 4-inch Super AMOLED display, a 1GHz Samsung Hummingbird processor, Bluetooth 3.0, and more.

NTP files patent lawsuit against Apple, Google, others

NTP Inc. is suing Apple, Google, HTC, LG, Microsoft, and Motorola for infringing on eight of its wireless email patents. The suit was filed with the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.

T-Mobile USA has lowered the price of its navigation-centric Android smartphone, the Garminfone. The phone offers voice guided turn-by-turn directions and features like those of Garmin's personal navigation devices, including real time traffic, weather, and gas prices. The Garminfone is available now for $129.99, down from its original price of $199.99, with a qualifying service contract.

Today you can pre-order your Samsung Vibrant Android 2.1 powered smartphone from RadioShack. The Vibrant, which offers a 5 megapixel camera, a 4-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen display, and a 1GHz Hummingbird processor, is available for $199.99 with a 2-year contract and a minimum $30 data plan. The device is also available unactivated for $499.99. Pre-orders ship on July 21.

Today Telenav announced that it has teamed up with U.S. Cellular to launch the Your Navigator Deluxe GPS service. The application will work on the Samsung Acclaim, HTC Touch, HTC Touch Pro 2, HTC Touch Pro, HTC Snap, BlackBerry Tour 9630, Pearl Flip 8230, Curve 8530, and the Samsung i225. Your Navigator Deluxe offers 3D voice-guided turn-by-turn directions, 12 million business listings, daily gas prices, weather information, restaurant reviews, online trip pre-planning, and traffic rerouting. Your Navigator Deluxe is bundled with U.S. Cellular's smartphone data plans that cost $30 per month.

Samsung's i8520 Galaxy Beam smartphone, an Android powered device with a built-in projector, will make its debut on July 17th. The phone offers a 3.7-inch WVGA Super AMOLED touchscreen, Android 2.1, an 8 megapixel camera, front-facing VGA camera, WiFi connectivity, and up to 7 hours of talk time. Fring with 3G 2-way video chat support now available for iPhone 4

Fring version 3.2.0.5 was approved for the Apple iPhone recently. The latest version supports 2-way video calling over 3G, and will allow iPhone 4 owners to chat with friends that use other 2-way video chat capable phones, such as the Android powered HTC EVO 4G on Sprint. The application is free through iTunes.

RIM to launch App World, TD-SCDMA BlackBerry smartphones in China

Research in Motion (RIM) is planning to launch its App World application store in China, according to Reuters. RIM plans to work with content providers in China to offer popular services, such as the Baidu search engine, and games from Tencent. Greg Shea, head of RIM in China, also told Reuters that RIM plans to make TD-SCDMA compatible BlackBerry phones that will run on China Mobile's 3G network, but didn't provide details on when the product would launch.
