Nokia N900 software update 1.2 adds 2-way video calling, more improvements Posted: 25 May 2010 05:16 AM PDT Today Nokia announced a new software version 1.2 for the N900. The latest update adds new games and applications to the Ovi Store, which will be available on Thursday May 27th. Nokia also improved email event invitations, the Ovi Maps user interface, and even added a 2-way video calling feature for face-to-face chatting. It's also now possible to browse in portrait mode instead of just in landscape. Nokia said that it has no plans for a full-scale MeeGo upgrade on the Nokia N900. Read the full story here. |
Walmart slashing price of Apple iPhone 3GS by more than half Posted: 24 May 2010 07:01 PM PDT In a move that could be interpreted as Apple looking to clear its stock to make room for a new iPhone variant, Walmart has reduced the price of Apple's 16GB iPhone 3GS by more than half. Starting on Tuesday May 25, the current top of the line iPhone will be available for $97, down from its original price of $199, when purchased with a two-year AT&T service agreement. Samsung S8500 Wave bada powered smartphone now available in Germany, France, U.K. Posted: 24 May 2010 09:43 AM PDT Today Samsung said that its S8500 Wave, a bada powered smartphone, is now commercially available in Germany, France, and in the U.K. Samsung also expects to release the Wave in Southeast Asia, China, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America. While specific carriers or purchase locations were not announced today, Vodafone has already said that it will offer the Wave beginning on June 1.
