Google Android 2.2 SDK now available

This afternoon Google provided Android developers its latest Android software development kit (SDK) for Android 2.2, which will allow developers to take advantage of the new features available in this latest version of Android. Android 2.2 is a minor platform release including user features, developer features, API changes, and bug fixes.

Versace, LG team up for "Unique" touchscreen fashion phone

LG, in conjunction with ModeLabs and Versace, has announced a new mobile phone, the Versace Unique. The phone offers luxurious touches like leather and gold casing that is embossed with the Versace Medusa logo.

Adobe launches Flash 10.1 for Android 2.2, but only as a beta

Today Google announced that its latest smartphone operating system version, Android 2.2, will officially support Adobe Flash and Air technologies. It was pointed out, however, that the Adobe Flash 10.1 support that is included in Android 2.2 is part of a "public beta", and is not the final version of the software.

Apple's international iPad App Store is now open

Apple has opened its international iPad App Store ahead of its May 28 hardware launch. Users of American iPads in foreign countries have been able to use apps for some time now, but only through Apple's iTunes application. It should be noted that the international iPad App Store is only partially functional at this time and is missing some of Apple's official iPad apps like iBooks and iWork.

Today Google officially unwrapped Android 2.2, which includes many new features, including automatic app updates, adobe Flash support, and much faster applications and web browsing sessions. The OS will even allow users to initiate things like phone-based downloads from a personal computer.

T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide Android smartphone coming June 2 for $179.99

T-Mobile USA has just announced that its HTC-built myTouch 3G Slide Android-powered smartphone will be available for purchase in red, black, or white on June 2, 2010 for a retail price of $179.99 with a 2yr contract (after a $50 mail-in rebate). PayPal has announced its Mobile Payments Library for Android developers. The library will allow developers to create applications and games that provide users with the option to buy additional content using their PayPal account. HP planning webOS connected printers, better smartphone printing solutions

During the Reuters Global Technology Summit HP's executive vice president of Imaging and Printing, Vyomesh Joshi, said that his company is planning to launch a printer that runs webOS. HP expects to release connected printers, with touchscreens, that make it easy to print from the web without having to use a computer, and webOS could make that a much easier task. HP also wants to make printing from smartphones, and other mobile devices, easier for consumers.

Samsung S8500 Wave coming to Vodafone U.K. on June 1

Today Vodafone U.K. updated its website to show a June 1 availability for the Samsung S8500 Wave. The Wave is a Bada powered device with a AMOLED touchscreen, a 1GHz processor, a 5 megapixel camera, WiFi, GPS, and more. Vodafone is offering the Wave for free with a GBP25 two-year service agreement that includes 300 free minutes, 500MB of data, and unlimited texting.

Video: Samsung Seek for Sprint video tour

Samsung's new Seek for Sprint is a slick looking little QWERTY messaging device. It has a cool touch user interface and a decent keyboard that makes it a fun little piece of hardware. Sadly, we had minimal Sprint service at our temporary locale, and were only able to provide a quick tour of the phone.

Nokia adds Qype support, user recordable voices to Ovi Maps
