Sprint HTC Hero and Samsung Moment getting Android 2.1 in Q2 Posted: 07 May 2010 01:04 PM PDT Today Sprint said in its forums that the HTC Hero and Samsung Moment will be upgraded to Android 2.1 sometime during the second quarter. The official post said: "Hello community members, we wanted to let you know that Sprint continues to work closely with Samsung and HTC to deliver the highly anticipated Android 2.1 upgrade for the Samsung Moment and HTC Hero. We are on track for the upgrade to be available in Q2. Sprint had hoped to have this resolved by now - we thank our customers for their patience as we work to bring them a positive experience with this upgrade." Read the full story here. |

Nokia suing Apple in Wisconsin for iPad/iPhone patent infringement Posted: 07 May 2010 07:52 AM PDT Today Nokia announced that it has filed a complaint with the Federal District Court in the Western District of Wisconsin against apple claiming that the iPhone and the iPad infringe on 5 of Nokia's patents. The patents are related speech and data transmission, positioning data in applications, and antenna configurations that save space while improving performance. Read the full story here. |
Samsung release Bada software development kit Posted: 07 May 2010 07:30 AM PDT Today Samsung released the software development kit (SDK) for its Bada operating system. Apple iPad goes international in 9 countries on May 28th Posted: 07 May 2010 06:22 AM PDT Today Apple announced that the iPad will be available in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Switzerland, and the U.K. beginning on May 28th. Anyone who purchases a smartphone with a 2-year contract with a qualifying plan and unlimited web can purchase a second one of equal or lesser value when they add or upgrade a second line with a contract. T-Mobile introduces new efficient microUSB chargers Posted: 07 May 2010 05:09 AM PDT Today T-Mobile announced new microUSB chargers that it will begin selling nationwide beginning on July 19th. The products include a microUSB car charger($29.99), a microUSB 2-in-1 wall charger ($39.99) with an additional USB port for powering other gadgets, and a microUSB wall charger ($29.99). T-Mobile says the products can charge phones 20 percent to 50 percent faster than standard chargers. Both the wall charger and microUSB 2-in-1 charger have Level 5 Energy Star ratings as well.
