Despite not sharing exactly how many iPhones it sold since the start of the year, AT&T told Reuters that 40 percent of its iPhone sales are to business users. Verizon Wireless LTE 4G network will have tiered pricing options Posted: 27 May 2010 11:15 AM PDT During a Barclays investor conference this week, Verizon Wireless' CEO, Lowell McAdam, said that Verizon Wireless will introduce tiered pricing plans for Verizon's fourth generation long term evolution (LTE) network. He explained that customers should be able to buy "buckets' of data, because customers "will have four or five or perhaps even more devices that will connect to the network." Verizon expects to save money with its new 4G network, as it should cost one-half to one-third of the price it takes to carry the same amount of data over its 3G network. Read the full story here.

Apple slips past Microsoft as world's biggest tech company Posted: 27 May 2010 10:07 AM PDT Apple is now the largest tech company in the world, in terms of market capitalization, according to the Associated Press. Best Buy relaunches mobile site for online phone purchases Posted: 27 May 2010 07:29 AM PDT Today Best Buy announced that it has relaunched its mobile site, BestBuy.com/Mobile. The new website now offers customers the ability to purchase phones with a contract and then choose a store to pick it up in, or have it shipped directly to them. There's also a new Instant Ship option which that customers can use if a device isn't available in a particular store. Best Buy also has a dedicated call center for shopping assitance. webOS designer Matias Duarte leaves Palm, could be headed to Google Posted: 27 May 2010 07:13 AM PDT Matias Duarte, the vice president of human interface and user experience at Palm (now owned by HP), has left the company according to All Things D. Duarte, also the former vice president of experience design at Helio and the director of design at Danger, worked on developing Palm's webOS UI and was with the company for 2 years and 9 months, according to his LinkedIn profile. Mozilla working on Firefox Home browser sync for iPhone Posted: 27 May 2010 05:51 AM PDT Mozilla has announced that it is working on an iPhone application called Firefox Home. When you leave your computer, Mozilla wants you to be able to pick-up your browsing session right where you left off, and so the app is based on the Firefox Sync technology (formerly known as Wave Sync), and will let iPhone owners view their Firefox browsing history, bookmarks, and tabs from their last session. It also includes Firefox's "Awesome Bar" for quickly accessing your favorite websites. It has not yet been submitted to the App Store, and Mozilla says there will be more to come.
