BBC iPlayer adds downloads to iPhone and iPad, Android coming soon Posted: 04 Sep 2012 04:06 AM PDT The BBC has made its wealth of video content available for download on iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch devices. The British media company's iPlayer app now enables program downloads that can be stored up to 30 days, or viewed up to 7 days once the play button has been pressed. The new feature lets viewers play programs anywhere that a Wi-Fi or 3G signal is unavailable. Downloads are available only over Wi-Fi, and can be enabled by tapping the 'Download' button on each program. iPlayer for Android will soon enable downloads as well, but the Apple iOS version is available now.
