Avengers, assemble! T-Mobile offers free movie download to Samsung Galaxy S III customers Posted: 20 Sep 2012 07:42 AM PDT T-Mobile will give buyers of the Samsung Galaxy S III a free digital copy of Marvel's The Avengers movie. The carrier announced today that both new and existing customers will be eligible to download the year's biggest box office hit at no cost. Galaxy S III owners will be able to download the film from the Samsung Media Hub app, and then watch it on the device or use AllShare Cast to display it on a compatible TV. Apple SMS spoofing security exploit supposedly fixed in iOS6 Posted: 20 Sep 2012 06:57 AM PDT One month ago, a hacker claimed that Apple's iPhone software contains security vulnerabilities that enable someone to send messages that pretend to be from a trusted contact. That exploit has been fixed in iOS6, according to hacker p0sixninja. Apple reportedly introduced an "insane number of security fixes on iOS6," including patching the hole that could let SMS scammers send messages that display the name of someone in your contacts but actually reply to numbers that cost the user money or lead to other scams. The exploit was possible because of the way that iOS previously handled SMS headers, but iPhone owners can download iOS6 to fix the problem. Read the full story here. |
