RIM showcases BlackBerry 10 software, announces carrier testing to begin next month

Research In Motion is finally getting in motion and showing that it has made progress in preparing BlackBerry 10 to be released next year. Originally expected to have launched by now, the BlackBerry platform refresh will happen in 2013, and RIM says that carriers will begin testing devices next month.

Samsung Galaxy Note II launches in the UK Oct. 1

Samsung will introduce the Galaxy Note II to the UK market on October 1. The large phone will go on sale at the Samsung Brand Stores in Westfield and Stratford City, and at all major networks throughout the UK. Samsung did not name a price, but retailer Clove has the Galaxy Note II listed at £528 including VAT. The Galaxy Note II will arrive with a quad-core Exynos processor, a 5.5-inch screen, an 8 megapixel camera, and lots more thanks to its S Pen capability. Samsung has estimated that these features will attract as many as 20 million buyers worldwide.

Google Chairman says Apple removed Google Maps from iOS, new app hasn't been submitted to App Store

After many users began complaining about the maps application in Apple iOS 6, rumors began circulating that Google had already submitted a Google Maps for iPhone and iPad that was pending Apple's approval. New comments from Google Chairman Eric Schmidt cast doubts on those claims.
