LG Optimus 7 Windows Phone 7 device now available from Vodafone UK

Today Vodafone UK launched the LG Optimus 7, a Windows Phone 7 powered smartphone. The LG Optimus 7 offers a 5 megapixel camera, a 3.8-inch touchscreen display, 16GB of internal storage, and more. HTC 7 Trophy Windows Phone 7 device now on Vodafone UK

BlackBerry App World online storefront now live

Today RIM announced that its BlackBerry App World storefront, which allows BlackBerry owners to purchase and download applications directly from the web, is now live. The App World web store allows users to edit My World accounts, sync apps to their BlackBerry, read and write reviews, and more. The storefront is available at http://appworld.blackberry.com/webstore.

BlackBerry Style 9670 for Sprint first look

Last night I had a chance to meet up with RIM to check out the latest BlackBerry smartphone in the United States, the BlackBerry Style 9670 for Sprint. The Style 9670 runs the BlackBerry 6 operating system and offers a clamshell formfactor with a full QWERTY keyboard. Hands on: Nokia E7 QWERTY Symbian^3 business smartphone

I met up with Nokia last night to check out one of its latest Symbian^3 smartphones, the E7. The E7 is similar to the N8, but sports a full QWERTY keyboard. As such, it's also targeted a bit more at the business user crowd.

Sprint releasing Samsung Moment firmware update

Today Sprint announced that it is releasing the DJ07 firmware update for the Samsung Moment, which will address some minor problems with the phone, such as the proximity sensor and screen lock, and 911 emergency calling. The update will start rolling out over the air soon, but will also be available for direct download on November 3.

Nokia C7 smartphone offers NFC support

According to people who have spent time with the C7, the device offers support for near-field communications (NFC). Nokia hasn't said where NFC might be used, although a number of banks have noted intentions to support NFC tap-and-go style transactions in the future. The T-Mobile G2 is the latest QWERTY keyboard equipped Android smartphone from T-Mobile USA. Based on the HTC Desire Z, it features a speedy 800MHz Snapdragon processor, a 3.7-inch WVGA touchscreen display, and a 5 megapixel camera that can record 720p HD video.

Verizon reports increased revenue, but slowed subscriber growth

Today Verizon Communications reported its third quarter 2010 earnings. Verizon Wireless, a joint venture between Verizon Communications and Vodafone, saw revenue growth both slowed growth of its subscriber base.

Motorola DEFY Android smartphone headed to T-Mobile UK

T-Mobile UK has posted that the Motorola DEFY is "coming soon," on its website. The Motorola DEFY is a "life proof" Android smartphone that offers a water and dust resistance, and is scratch proof. It also offers a 3.7-inch touchscreen display. T-Mobile UK says the phone will launch in November, but didn't provide a price for the phone.

Samsung Galaxy Tab headed to T-Mobile UK

T-Mobile UK has posted a splash page stating that the Samsung Galaxy Tab is due to land in November. The Galaxy Tab is an Android 2.2 powered tablet with a 7-inch touchscreen display. T-Mobile UK says the device has a 1.2GHz processor, although we've only heard of a 1GHZ model. The device is due in November and pricing has not yet been announced.
