Russia may ban iPad, choose BlackBerry PlayBook or Android tablets for government use

According to local Russian news sources, the government in Russia is contemplating banning the use of Apple iPads for government use, citing security concerns with Apple's darling. In place of the iPad, Russia may use the BlackBerry PlayBook, Android tablets, or possibly a custom device developed by the government itself.

AT&T to throttle speeds for excessive data hogs

AT&T killed off its unlimited plans last summer when the iPhone 4 launched, but it allowed those who had an unlimited plan to keep them, grandfathering them in. Those users have been able to enjoy unlimited data service with their smartphones since then, though their experience will be changing come October 1, as the carrier has announced plans to throttle the speed of unlimited users who exceed a certain data limit.
