Foursquare iPhone app gains notification center

Foursquare has updated its iPhone app to offer the notification center that Android users have been enjoying for a few weeks. The notification center will alert users whenever a friend has commented on an action, completed a tip, or added the same place to their to-do list, as well as other things such as new friend requests. The header bar of the app will show an icon whenever there is a new notification to look at. In addition, foursquare has redesigned the check-in page and added the ability to control notifications in the settings section. Foursquare for the iPhone is free and available in the iTunes App Store now.

HTC Status "Facebook phone" now available from AT&T

HTC's "don't call it the Facebook phone but it is a Facebook phone" Status is now available for purchase from AT&T. Fifty bucks and a new two-year agreement will net you an Android 2.3 Gingerbread smartphone with a 2.6-inch touchscreen and a portrait QWERTY keyboard. Of course, you also get a special button for all of your Facebooking needs, and HTC has included some Facebook-specific apps with the version of Sense that is installed on the Status. Women embracing Google+, too - it's not just a boys' club

The man who correctly predicted that Google+ has 10 million users, Paul Allen of Ancestry.com, is now coming out and saying that sites claiming the new social network has a 6 to 1 ratio of men to women are all wrong.
