HP promises TouchPad update will arrive "in about 10 days"

HP's new TouchPad tablet has had a rocky time since it was released on the first of this month, with many reviewers slamming it for poor performance out of the box. The company has acknowledged this feedback and has promised that an over-the-air update will be coming that resolves many of the performance complaints that users and reviewers have had, and fixes a lot of bugs present in the platform.

Evernote for Android updated with tablet support, more

Evernote, the popular note-taking and syncing service, has finally released a version of its app for Android Honeycomb tablets. The new tablet-specific version of Evernote for Android takes advantage of the greater screen real-estate on tablets, and still provides all of the functions that users have come to expect from an Evernote app. Android smartphone users weren't left out of the update either, as Evernote added some much-requested features to the phone version too.

T-Mobile adds HSPA+ 42Mbps service to 56 more markets

T-Mobile has announced a significant expansion to its HSPA+ 42Mbps network (the fastest one it offers) to 56 more markets. The total number of markets covered with HSPA+ 42 is now over 150, and over 170 million Americans have access to the service.

HP was here at AT&T's event in NYC showing off its new TouchPad 4G tablet that will be hitting the carrier later this year. The AT&T version of the TouchPad 4G has a HSPA+ radio that is capable if hitting speeds of up to 21Mbps, and it also features a faster, 1.5GHz processor.

AT&T's new LTE devices support T-Mobile's spectrum, show confidence in acquisition

Buried in the press releases for the first LTE devices available from AT&T, the Mobile Hotspot Elevate 4G and the USBConnect Momentum 4G, is the little fact that both devices support LTE on the 700MHz band and the 1700/2100MHz band, which is better known as AWS. This is significant because the only network that uses AWS in the U.S. is T-Mobile, which AT&T is trying to buy.

Samsung demands Apple find new legal counsel because of insider knowledge

In the latest episode of the Samsung versus Apple legal fight, Samsung has now asked the court to disqualify Apple's legal counsel because it fears the legal team has insider knowledge of Samsung that could be used to help Apple. The legal team that Apple is using was co-founded by someone who represented Samsung in a previous case, and that person could have inside knowledge on how Samsung works, Samsung claims.

HTC responds to Apple's latest legal threats

HTC has issued a statement in response to Apple's recent filing of yet more patent infringement complaints against the smartphone manufacturer. Apple recently filed a second complaint with the International Trade Commission in the U.S. in which it added HTC's more recent products to the complaint that it filed last year.

Google+ could now have 10 million users

Google's two week old social network, Google+, has been the topic of conversation ever since it was launched. It has created a significant amount of interest, despite it being an invite-only product. Significant enough that Paul Allen of Ancestry.com estimates the brand new network already has 9.5 million users, with over 2 million joining the just the past two days.

HTC DROID Incredible 2 Gingerbread update now available

Not a huge surprise, since the details of this update were leaked out last week, but HTC DROID Incredible 2 owners should be pretty happy today, as the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update for the smartphone is now rolling out to users. As a reminder, this update brings all of the usual goodies that come with Android 2.3, plus it offers compatibility with Verizon Wireless' wireless charging system. The update weighs in at just over 116MB, and users can go to the Software Updates section of their phone's settings app to see if the update is ready for them. If you haven't received the update just yet, sit tight, as per usual with Verizon, this is a slow roll-out that will eventually get to all users.
