PayPal president pegs death of the wallet for 2015

In a blog post announcing that there are 100 million users on PayPal, President Scott Thompson predicts that the traditional wallet will be dead and gone by 2015, and we that will all use mobile payment apps to buy things.

VIZIO 8-inch VIA Android tablet loses a name, is put up for pre-order

The VIZIO tablet formerly known as the VIA has finally been made available for pre-order after being announced at CES and being spotted in various corners of the web for the past few months. The 8-inch tablet features a 1024 x 768 pixel screen and a 1GHz processor. It runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread with VIZIO's V.I.A. (so that's where the name went!) custom interface. A front-facing camera and 2GB of internal storage round out the specs. If you have been pining for a tablet to match your VIZIO TV, you can drop $379 over at VIZIO's website and place your pre-order now. The tablet is estimated to ship around July 18.

WordPress chooses webOS to launch first visual editor app

WordPress has surprisingly chosen webOS and the newly-released HP TouchPad tablet to launch its first app that provides full visual editing of posts. The blogging platform has had apps for other operating systems for sometime now, but none of them provide the rich editing and preview capabilities present in the webOS app.
