Google takes the data from NORADSanta.org and shows you precisely where Santa is at any given moment. | Cherokee tribe and Apple work together for iPhone language support Posted: 24 Dec 2010 05:33 AM PST Apple is reportedly working with a Cherokee tribe in an effort to help spread the use of the Cherokee language to children. Apple has already worked with the Cherokee tribe to develop language support on the iPhone and iPod touch, and iPad support is reportedly coming soon. According to the Associated Press, the tribe contacted Apple three years ago asking for support, and after a few meetings, Apple was able to offer support for Cherokee this fall. Cherokee is the only American Indian language supported by Apple products. Read the full story here. |
| HTC Wildfire Android 2.2 Froyo update rolling out Posted: 24 Dec 2010 05:17 AM PST HTC is now rolling out the Android 2.2 Froyo update to the Wildfire, one of its low-cost Android smarpthones. HTC wasn't specific on whether or not the update includes Flash Player 10.1 and Live Wallpapers, but seeing that Vodafone left those features out in its update, we suspect they aren't included in this one. | Foursquare for Android updated with widgets, photo sharing, comments Posted: 24 Dec 2010 05:09 AM PST Foursquare, the popular social network check-in app, met its promise of delivering a new Android version of its application by the holidays. Foursquare has announced that the new Android app, available now for free, includes the ability to post comments on your friend's check-ins, as well as the option to share photos of everywhere you check-in. It also lets you visit your history page to view all the places you've been, the photos you've shared, and the comments you've made. The app comes with two exclusive Android home screen widgets, too. With the new version you can use Quickffice to change the font type, color, and size, add/delete/reorder slides, change your layers, insert or edit text boxes, view your presentation in a slideslow, and more. | Verizon LG Ally Android 2.2 Froyo update landing in February Posted: 24 Dec 2010 04:58 AM PST According to a moderator on LG's Forums, the LG Ally will get its Android 2.2 Froyo update sometime in February. It's currently uncleear whether that update will support Adobe Flash Player 10.1 or live wallpapers. The LG Ally has a 600MHz processor, and those are usually the two features to be cut from slower phones. Since carriers usually issue the updates, it looks like the official date will be on Verizon's terms. Read the full story here. |
