iGrill, the first Bluetooth thermometer for iPhone, now available

Today a company called iDevices announced and launched the world's first Bluetooth thermometer for the iPhone, the iGrill. iGrill works in temperatures up to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and comes with a corresponding application that offers a timer, recipes, recipe sharing, and more. It's available online and should also be in Apple Stores across the U.S. for $99 now.

HTC Sense to get multimedia content, ebooks, and more

HTC is looking to expand its Sense user experience, which is loaded on Android smartphones and a bit differently on Windows Phone 7, to include more compelling content. In an interview with Forbes recently, HTC's head of user experience, Drew Bamford, told said that HTC has plans to add multimedia content to Sense, including music, video, ebooks, magazines, and newspapers. HTC provides ebook content in Europe already, but it's not yet available in the United States. Similarly, it has a partnership with Netflix to provide video content. HTC also has plans to include Sense on new platforms, such as televisions, through set-top boxes. "Over the next year or so, we'll be taking Sense and making it a richer, more capable, more compelling experience," Bamford said.

Skype CEO says 21 million users are back online

Skype's CEO, speaking to the Associated Press, said that earlier this afternoon 21 million of its users were back online, which was 10 percent less than its average traffic numbers for that specific time of day. Skype has still not revealed what exactly caused the issue.

HTC issuing maintenance updates for Desire Z/Desire HD smartphones

HTC said via Twitter today that it is issuing updates to both the Desire Z and the Desire HD for European users. It said the release will make "your mobile experience even better," but shot down speculation that it's Android 2.3 Gingerbread by saying it's a maintenance build based on feedback and that "Gingerbread is not a part of this update." The software will be rolling out beginning today.

Angry Birds for iPhone updated with 15 new levels, Mighty Eagle

Rovio has updated its Angry Birds game for the iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. Version 1.5.0 includes a new theme in the frontier badlands, 15 new levels, a new golden egg, and a mighty eagle character. The Mighty Eagle can be used to help you get through levels that you might be stuck on. Angry Birds for iPhone is $0.99 and we believe the update is free.

Apple Remote 2.1 iOS app now available

Apple recently released an update for its Remote application, which allows iOS devices, such as the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch, to control iTunes libraries and your Apple TV. Remote 2.1 adds AirPlay video support for streaming videos on your Apple TV, provides access to internet radio stations, and the option to control TV shows and movies that you've rented from iTunes. It also addresses some bug and stability issues and has some performance improvements. Remote 2.1 is free and is available from the iTunes App Store now.

Samsung Omnia 7 WP7 phone headed to Virgin Media

Virgin Media has posted the Samsung Omnia 7 on its website as "coming soon." The Samsung Omnia 7 is a Windows Phone 7 smartphone with a 4-inch touchscreen display and a 5MP camera. Virgin Media will sell the phone for free with a minimum £30.64 ($47.19) monthly fee and a new contract. The exact launch date is not yet known.

Google Android Market now supports AT&T carrier billing

Today Google announced that its Android Market now supports carrier billing on AT&T. That means you'll be able to purchase applications and bill to your AT&T account for payment later, when you pay your monthly bill. This is a solid option for those that don't want to use their credit card with Google Checkout. Google launched this feature for T-Mobile about a year ago.

LG Optimus 2X dual-core Android smartphone launching in Europe in January

LG has reportedly said that its Optimus 2X Android smartphone will launch in January, 2011. The Optimus 2X is the first smartphone to offer NVIDIA's dual-core Tegra 2 chip, and it should offer some impressive performance. LG is also working with Ennio Morricone, a composer, to load the device up with exclusive ring tones on some models. Pricing and carrier information have not yet been announced.

NPR Music app updated for iPhone

NPR has updated its iPhone music app with a number of features. The app now features a swipe-based homescreen for navigation and one-click access to music streams, news, programs, and blogs. It also now provides access to NPR's "Tiny Desk Concert" series of videos, and access to All Songs 24/7, a music channel. According to IntoMobile, those who download hte update also get a 12-song music sampler from NPR which includes picks of its favorite artists of 2010.

Samsung: 9.3 million Galaxy S devices sold

Samsung has reportedly sold 9.3 million of its Galaxy S smartphones, according to The Chosunilbo, a Korean news outlet. Samsung has sold 2 million of those devices in South Korea alone, and we know that 5 million of them have been shipped in the United States. Back in October, when Samsung reported its Q3 2010 earnings, it set a sales goal record of 10 million Galaxy S devices sold, a goal that seems feasible.
