| Verizon working on 4G LTE handoff fix, Apple drivers Posted: 13 Dec 2010 05:09 AM PST Speaking to PCMag recently, Jeffrey Nelson, a Verizon Wireless spokesperson, confirmed that Verizon is working on a fix for some issues users have reported while switching from Verizon's 4G network to its 3G network. Reportedly, this switch can take up to two minutes, which means users are left without an internet connection while the handoff is made. Similarly, Verizon Wirless is also working on USB driver support for its LTE modems on Apple computers. Nelson said the drivers should be available "relatively soon." | Google Latitude now available for iOS 4 devices Posted: 13 Dec 2010 04:45 AM PST Google Latitude, Google's mapping service add-on, which allows users to share their location and view the location of their friends, is now available in the iTunes App Store for iOS 4 users. You can choose to set your location manually with Latitude, hide your location, or set Latitude to detect your whereabouts automatically. The app is available for free now. | Verizon dropping KIN social and online functions in January Posted: 12 Dec 2010 06:59 AM PST WPCentral is showing photos of what it claims to be a Verizon Wireless pamphlet sent to Microsoft KIN owners that shows that the nation's largest wireless carrier intends to drop support for most of the online functionality of Microsoft's ill-fated KIN ONE and KIN TWO handsets on January 31, relegating them to little more than basic phones with music players. Zune Pass support will still exist, but only when connected to a Wi-Fi network. All of the social networking functions, such as contacts and status updates, will stop functioning, as will news feeds. | New smaller iPad with dual cameras in 2011 - Reuters sources Posted: 12 Dec 2010 06:51 AM PST Reuters is quoting unnamed supply-chain sources as saying that a new Apple iPad device will not only be "significantly" smaller than the current model, but that it will feature both front and rear facing cameras.
