Cricket intros new Muze unlimited music plan

Today Cricket announced its new Muve Music rate plan. For $55 per month Cricket customers get unlimited nationwide calling, text, 3G web, and full track music download from Muze Music. Muze Music provides tracks from Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment, and EMI Music. Users can also download unlimited ringtones and ringback tones. The music files are DRM free, but they are stored on a protected memory card from SanDisk, which we assume means the songs can't be played back on another devices. Cricket's Muze Music plan will be supported on the Samsung SCH-r710 Suede at launch, a feature phone with a 3-inch touchscreen display.

Motorola DROID 2 Global update improves voice calls

Motorola and Verizon Wireless are now pushing out a software update for the Motorola DROID 2 Global. The update includes improved audio during voice calls and reduced user interface lock-ups. It also fixes an issue where the phone says it has "No Service" after powering up, another where the phone resets when switching from Global Mode to GSM/UMTS communication, and more. The update should be pushed to your phone, but you can also manually check for an update.

HTC Wildfire Android 2.2 Froyo update rolling out to Vodafone subscribers now

Today Vodafone UK announced that the Android 2.2 Froyo update for the HTC Wildfire is now rolling out. The update includes support for USB tethering, the ability to install apps to the SD card, native support for Activesync Exchange, an enhanced camera app, enhanced Bluetooth support, multiple keyboard languages, and Wi-Fi Hotspot tethering. The software update also includes speed and stability improvements. Live wallpapers and Adobe Flash are not supported.

Google Nexus S smartphone gets price drop in the UK

It seems that the UK's Carphone Warehouse has started selling the Google Nexus S a few days early, and now, a day before it was originally set to be available to its customers, Carphone Warehouse has reduced the price of the phone as well - both on contract and SIM-free. The Android 2.3 Gingerbread powered device, manufactured by Samsung, is available for 429.99GBP contract free, and will be available for nothing up front with a monthly contract spend of 30GBP or more. The Nexus S was listed as being available earlier, but is now showing as "out of stock" on Carphone's website.
