eBay updates iPad app with Retina Display support, in-app payments

eBay has announced a refresh of its application for the Apple iPad. The latest eBay for iPad 2.0 app offers users an easier way to shop and view items on the higher resolution, Retina Display touchscreen found on the latest iPad. In addition to the new user interface refresh, eBay now offers in-app payments with PayPal, an option to customize the home screen, and a better navigation system. The update is available now from iTunes.

Class suit against Nokia alleges securities fraud regarding Windows Phone performance

Nokia is the subject of a securities class action lawsuit that has been filed in New York State. The plaintiff in the case accuses Nokia of committing securities fraud based upon the company's promised turn-around that hinged upon its move to the Windows Phone smartphone platform.

Tests show Apple iPad 2 with new processor gets better battery life

Apple did not make a big deal about the iPad 2 when it announced the new iPad and its A5X processor, but, as it turns out, the updated iPad 2 sports a new version of the original A5 processor as well. Select units of the 16GB Wi-Fi-only iPad 2 that are now available for $399 feature a new 32nm version of the original A5 processor, and it turns out that they are getting better battery life than older versions of the iPad 2.

Jury can't reach verdict in Google, Oracle case after 20 hours of deliberation

Google and Oracle have been waging a battle in court over the past few weeks, as they duke it out to determine whether Google infringed upon Oracle's Java patents with the Android operating system. Both companies have presented their arguments, and it is now up to the jurors to make verdict. Apparently, making that verdict is easier said than done, as the jury appears to be hung after 20 hours of deliberation.

Phones4U, T-Mobile to offer the Samsung Galaxy S III in the UK

Phones4U and T-Mobile UK have announced that they will start offering the new Samsung Galaxy S III on May 30 when it is due to be available in the UK. The Galaxy S III is Samsung's latest flagship device and it features a new quad-core processor and 4.8-inch Super AMOLED 720p display. T-Mobile did not provide pricing information for the new phone just yet, but Phones4U says that it will offer the Galaxy S III for free with monthly tariffs of 36GBP or more. Phones4U is also offering a "premium accessory bundle" worth 50GBP for free to customers that pre-order the Galaxy S III.
