Palm demonstrates Unreal Engine 3 on webOS

At the Game Developers Conference (GDC), Palm and Epic Games are showing off Palm webOS devices running Unreal Engine 3, which in the past has powered popular gaming titles from Epic including Gears of War and Unreal Tournament 3, a pretty impressive task. This afternoon Google announced that users on iPhone, webOS, and Android smartphones will see new product search features. Leveraging your position, if you search, for example, "cowboy boots" under the Shopping search, results will now offer a blue dot and the label "In stock nearby" if you can purchase the item at a store near your location. To try it, visit google.com using one of the aforementioned smartphone platforms.

T-Mobile USA joins WaveMarket's Veriplace location aggregation platform initiative

Today T-Mobile announced that it has joined WaveMarket's Veriplace Location Aggregation Platform initiative. The platform provides developers with tools create location based web, mobile web, SMS, and voice applications. Also used by AT&T and Sprint, the service offers developers access to over 150 million handsets. Veriplace's platform is available for free at developer.veriplace.com.

YouTube Mobile for Windows Mobile and S60 phones refreshed

Google has announced version 2.4 of its YouTube application for Symbian S60 and Windows Mobile devices. The new version adds search query suggestions, account support, and a homescreen user interface that caters to larger displays. Favorites and playlists are also displayed on the home screen. Verizon Wireless 4G LTE phone due in 2011
