Did AT&T lock out untrusted apps on Motorola BACKFLIP?

According to a number of sources across the web, the Motorola BACKFLIP is unable to install applications that aren't inside the Android Market, otherwise known as "untrusted" apps. We are still waiting on our review unit, but should this prove true, that means BACKFLIP owners won't be able to install untrusted applications, like the recent beta version of Swype, for example. We'll keep you updated as we find out more.

Goldman Sachs slashes Google Nexus One sales estimate for 2010

Goldman Sachs expects Google to sell just 1 million Nexus One units in 2010, down from the original 3.5 million it projected earlier this year. The firm attributes a lack of marketing and customer service issues as reasons for slashing the forecast, according to The Wall Street Journal.

Verizon Wireless reveals its 4G LTE network real-world speeds

Verizon Wireless has been testing its fourth generation long term evolution (LTE) network in Boston and Seattle. Today, it revealed a few of its real-world data speeds that are significantly faster than current 3G networks.

Nokia files patent for self-charging kinetic phone

Nokia recently filed a patent for a phone that could potentially recharge itself using kinetic energy. According to the patent, the "kinetic energy resulting from acceleration of a battery powered device is harvested using piezoelectric elements that are positioned to receive forces along multiple axes." In other words, energy from movement can be received in a power controller and added to the battery.
