Mapquest adds voice guidance to free MapQuest 4 Mobile iPhone app

Today Mapquest announced that it has added voice-guided turn-by-turn directions to its MapQuest 4 Mobile iPhone app. The voice is capable of speaking directions and also helping you reroute if you navigate off course. The app also includes power savings options. It's available for free in Apple's App Store.

New Apple iPad orders won't ship until April 12th

Apple's new iPad will be in stores on April 3rd, and those who placed early pre-orders will receive their devices on time. However, the AP is reporting that new orders will not ship until April 12th. If you still want your Apple iPad on time, your best bet is to preorder it for in-store pickup on April 3rd. Apple did not provide a reason for the delay.

Verizon Wireless issues BlackBerry Tour 9630 OS 5.0.0.591 update

Today Verizon Wireless released OS version 5.0.0.591 for the BlackBerry Tour. The update includes the ability to communicate with one or more people at the push of a button, group calls with up to 50 participants, the ability to check a peer's push-to-talk availability, a single phone number for push-to-talk and voice calls, and online contact management. Nuance launches TALK 5.0 for Symbian S60 5th edition touchscreen phones

Today Nuance announced a new piece of software called TALKS 5.0 for Symbian S60 5th edition touchscreen smartphones.TALKS 5.0 helps the blind and visually impaired by letting them slide their finger across the screen to hear menu selections, applications, widgets, and text. Pressing the volume key up or down within a menu will also allow users to browse menu options. TALKS 5.0 will even read aloud the letters on a virtual keyboard. Vodafone UK customers can now pre-order the HTC Legend Android smartphone

Today Vodafone UK said that its customers can begin pre-ordering the HTC Legend. The device will come with Vodafone 360 apps including Vodafone Music and MyWeb, and will cost £25 ($37.63) with a 24 month contract that includes a 300 minute plan (or 600 minutes if you purchase online), unlimited text messages, and a 500MB mobile internet service plan.
