Pandora updated for BlackBerry 6 devices

Today Pandora announced that it has released its latest version of its BlackBerry application. Pandora v1.1.5 supports the BlackBerry Style 9670, universal search integration on BlackBerry OS 6, and some bug fixes. It should be available in BlackBerry App World.

HTC ships 6.3 million smartphones in Q3 2010

Today HTC announced its Q3 2010 financial results. The firm shipped 6.3 million units, a 143 percent increase year-over-year. Its goal is to ship 9 million during Q4 2010.

Americans frown on cellphone use at meals, likely do it anyway

A new survey from Zagat found that 63 percent of American's think using a phone during a meal is rude, although we figure most people are likely to do it anyway. Similarly, the survey found that even having a camera at the table can be rude. 68 percent of diners said that taking pictures of meals inside a restaurant "is only acceptable in moderation," according to NY Daily News.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 family Android 2.1 rollout starts Sunday

Today Sony Ericsson announced that it will roll out the Android 2.1 update to its Xperia X10, X10 mini, and X10 mini pro on Sunday. The Xperia X10 will gain HD-video recording capabilities, multiple homescreens, and more. The Xperia X10 mini and mini pro will get a new backup and restore application, improved Bluetooth functionality, and other benefits of Android 2.1. Sony Ericsson said the update will be rolled out over-the-air in most markets and says that it may require PC software.

Next Apple iPad could sport 5MP camera

Today Barron's reported that OmniVision may be working with Apple on the next version of the Apple iPad. A research firm called Detweiler Fenton said that OmniVision will supply the CMOS image sensor, and that the iPad will likely ship with a 5 megapixel rear camera and a forward facing VGA camera for video chat.

Verizon Wireless intros tiered data plans

As expected, today Verizon Wireless introduced a new data plan option. Verizon Wireless subcribers can now opt to purchase a $15 monthly data plan that provides just 150MB of data. An unlimited $29.99 monthly data plan is also still available. The new 150MB option is likely best suited for feature phone users that aren't planning to use the web too much.

The Energizer Inductive Charger is a Qi ("chee") compatible charging system that works with special covers and backs for select devices to charge them without wires. In this video we demonstrate the system with a BlackBerry Curve 8900 for T-Mobile.
