Samsung unveils Galaxy K Android 2.2 smartphone

India gives RIM more time to provide BlackBerry data access

According to the AFP, authorities in India have given smartphone maker Research In Motion more time to come up with a solution that will provide Indian security agencies with access to the encrypted data transmitted on RIM's BlackBerry network by users in that country. The new deadline has been set to January 31, an extension of 90 days from the original October 31 deadline.

HTC HD2 smartphone upgrade now available for download

HTC has announced a new ROM update is available for its HD2 smartphone. The update provides improved functionality for its Contact application to allow for faster searching and locating of contacts as well as offering enhanced CPU processing to help speed up background processes. Samsung launches Galaxy Tab developer forum

Today Samsung announced via its mobile blog that it has launched a developer forum for its Galaxy Tab tablet. According to Samsung, developing for the Galaxy Tab should be no different than developing for any other Android- based device. Developers are encouraged to utilize the public APIs provided in the Android SDK and follow the guidelines and tips on the dedicated Samsung developer forum.

Microsoft Windows Phone 7 HTC Trophy 7 headed to Vodafone UK

Vodafone has announced that it will exclusively carry the HTC Trophy 7 smartphone in the UK. The Trophy 7 will be available free with a two-year service agreement at 25 GBP per month. The HTC 7 Trophy is a bit smaller than the HTC HD7 and offers a 3.8-inch touchscreen display with an 800 x 480 pixel resolution, a 1GHz processor, 8GB of internal storage as well as 512MB of ROM and 576MB of RAM. A 5mp camera with HD video capabilities as well as Bluetooth and Wi-Fi capabilities are also on-board.

Microsoft: Windows Phone 7 to get copy/paste in 2011

Today HTC announced five new Windows Phone 7 handsets, including the 7 Pro. The 7 Pro was the only device to sport EV-DO Rev. A and Rev. 0 support, and HTC has said that it will offer the phone on Sprint in the first half of 2011. The HTC 7 Pro is powered by a 1GHz processor and has 16GB of internal storage. It also has a full QWERTY keyboard and a 3.6-inch touchscreen display with an 800 x 480 pixel resolution. Pricing for the 7 Pro has not been announced.
