O2 to offer exclusive white Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY smartphone

Via its Twitter feed, O2 UK announced it will offer its customers an exclusive white version of the Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY smartphone. The Xperia PLAY is Sony Ericsson's first PlayStation certified phone and runs Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating sysem. Pricing has not yet been announced but the carrier does show April 1 availability for the handset. For more, check out our hands-on with the Xperia PLAY smartphone.

Twitter suspends Twidroyd and UberTwitter for "policy violations"

Today Twitter suspended two popular third party Twitter clients. Both Twidroyd for the Android platform and UberTwitter for iPhone and BlackBerry have been suspended for what Twitter calls policy violations.

O2 UK's website is now showing an official April 1 launch date for the much anticipated Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY. The Xperia PLAY is Sony Ericsson's first PlayStation certified phone and runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Pricing has not yet been announced by the carrier. Apple considering cheaper iPhone

According to sources speaking to The New York Times, Apple is working on a cheaper version of its iPhone. However, the device might not necessarily be "smaller" than the current generation iPhone, as some earlier reports suggested.

Video: ViewSonic V350 feature tour video

The ViewSonic V350 is a new dual-SIM Android handset and is also the first 3G dual-SIM handset, as well. It features twin reception gauges, and two call buttons in the dial screen: one for each SIM card. The V350 runs on the Android 2.2 Froyo OS, and has a 3.5-inch HVGA touchscreen display, a 5 megapixel camera, as well as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS.

Video: Viewsonic Viewpad 10Pro hands-on video

ViewsSonic has been showing its new Viewpad 10 Pro at Mobile World Congress 2011, and it's a pretty interesting device. Unlike most tablets, the Viewpad 10Pro can dual-boot Windows 7 and Android, giving more flexibility for its users. It also switches between operating systems pretty quickly, courtesy of the Intel Oak Trail processor that it has under the hood.

Samsung's latest bada powered smartphone, the Wave II, made an appearance at Mobile World Congress 2011, and we managed to get some hands-on time with the device. Sporting a 3.7-inch Super Clear LCD display, the Wave II is an attractive handset to look at. It also has a 5 megapixel camera and is capable of recording 720p HD video. Topping off the spec list is Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, HSDPA, and Swype text input.

LG Optimus 3D pricing and availability details revealed

Expansys in the UK has announced the price and launch date for the LG Optimus 3D smartphone. The Optimus 3D features a 4.3-in 3D LCD display, dual 5MP cameras capable of recording and playing 3D content in 720p and 2D content in 1080p Full HD as well as a 1GHz dual-core chipset. The Android powered device will be available on April 25 for 514.99GBP ($834).

House votes against FCC Internet rules

The House of Representatives has voted to overturn net neutrality rules proposed by the Federal Communications Commission, Reuters is reporting. "We think the FCC overstepped their boundaries. This is something that should be done and solved in the halls of Congress," Republican Representative Steve Scalise said. The FCC's net neutrality rules would ban internet providers, such as Verizon and AT&T, from blocking competing services on their networks.

Motorola DROID X 2 images leaked with 1.2GHz processor, 8MP camera

Pictures of the Motorola DROID X 2 have been spotted by Engadget, and a source has said the device sports a 1.2GHz processor and could launch on Verizon Wireless during the second quarter of this year.

Foursquare launched for Series 40 devices

Today Nokia launched a Foursquare application for Series 40 devices in its Nokia Beta Labs section of its website. Nokia hopes the Java-based application will soon be available in the Ovi Store, and is interested on feedback from early users on different device models in different countries. Samsung Galaxy Ace now available on Three UK

The Samsung Galaxy Ace is now available on Three UK. The Galaxy Ace features a 3.5-in capacitive display, 5MP camera with auto-focus and LED flash, and an 800MHz CPU. It runs on Android 2.2 Froyo. Three's "The One Plan" offers unlimited internet data, 5000 texts, and 2000 minutes of talk time at 30GBP ($48.60) a month, but the device is also available with a pay-as-you-go plan.
