Free MapQuest application launches on Android

MapQuest has launched a free voice-guided navigation application for Android smartphones. The app features voice-guided turn-by-turn directions, voice search, a map toolbar for finding points of interest, and live traffic flow updates. It's also possible to map either walking or driving directions. MapQuest for Android is available in the Android Market now.

RadioShack to offer ATRIX 4G on February 22 for $149.99

RadioShack has confirmed on its Facebook page that it will offer the Motorola ATRIX 4G on February 22 for $149.99. RadioShack will also sell the device paired with its Motorola Laptop Dock for $479.99. The ATRIX 4G is the first dual-core smartphone to launch in the United States. HTC Desire S available for pre-order on Amazon UK

One of HTC's newest smartphones, the Desire S, is now available for pre-order on Amazon UK's website. The Desire S device runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread and features a 3.7-in capacitive display, a 5MP camera capable of recording 720p video, a 1GHz processor, and an aluminum uni-body casing. The phone will be available on the 18th of April for 419.99GBP ($678) and ships free.

INQ Cloud Touch and Cloud Q headed to Vodafone UK

INQ's latest launches from the MWC, the Cloud Touch and the Cloud Q, will be offered by Vodafone UK. The Cloud Touch features a 3.5-inch capacitive display, a 5MP camera, and a 600 MHz processor. The Cloud Q features a smaller 2.6-inch capacitive display, a full QWERTY keyboard, a 5MP camera, and a 600 MHz processor. Both phones run Android 2.2 Froyo and offer tight integration with Facebook. The Cloud Touch will be available by April, but the Cloud Q is still set to launch during the third quarter. Vodafone has not discussed pricing yet.

AT&T's Motorola ATRIX 4G confirmed to launch on February 22

AT&T has confirmed to BGR that it will launch the ATRIX 4G, an Android 2.2 powered smartphone that can be purchased with a unique laptop dock, will launch on February 22. That's almost two weeks earlier than the original March 6 slated release date. If you pre-ordered your ATRIX 4G, it sounds like you'll be able to pick up your device on February 21. Amazon is currently selling AT&T's new HTC Inspire 4G smartphone, which is capable of running on AT&T's HSPA+ network, for just $59.99 with a new two-year agreement. Current AT&T customers can nab the phone for $69.99, also with a new agreement. The Inspire 4G rocks a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, sports a large 4.3-inch display, and even packs in an 8MP camera with dual-LED flash. HP Pre 2 now available from Verizon Wireless

Verizon officially added the Pre 2 to its smartphone lineup today.The Pre 2 runs HP's latest webOS 2.0 operating system and has a 3.1-inch glass touchscreen display with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. The handset also sports a 1GHz processor, has a 5 megapixel camera with an LED flash and video recording, 802.11b/g Wi-Fi connectivity, and a plethora of social networking features. Samsung Galaxy S II and Galaxy Tab 10.1 will launch on Vodafone UK

Vodafone has confirmed it will launch Samsung's Galaxy S II and the Galaxy Tab 10.1 in the UK. The Galaxy S II features a 4.3-in Super AMOLED Plus capacitive display, an 8MP camera with 1080p HD video recording and playback, a 1GHz dual-core processor, and runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread. The Galaxy Tab 10.1 runs Android 3.0 Honeycomb, features a 10.1-inch capacitive display, an 8MP camera with 1080p Full HD playback and recording, and a 1GHz dual-core processor. Vodafone did not announced a specific release date or pricing for the devices.

Motorola brings XOOM Android tablet to the UK

Motorola Mobility has confirmed that Carphone Warehouse, Best Buy, Currys, Dixons, and PC World will be the official retailer partners for its its XOOM tablet launch. The XOOM is powered by Android Honeycomb 3.0 and sports a 10.1-in display, a 5MP camera with 720p video recording, and a forward-facing 1.3MP camera for video chat. The XOOM should be available during the second quarter of this year.
