Yesterday we brought you news of the newest Nexus handset that is being built by Motorola. 9to5Google acquired plenty of details about the handset and even built a mock-up of the device from what they knew. Of course, it was not 100% whether the mock-up was the finished article, but today there seems to be some clearer confirmation.

Samsung says the Note Edge is a limited concept

Samsung is a company that does not innovate, or so we are told. I am hardly Samsung's biggest fan, but I call creating a whole new category (phablets) and pioneering such features as the S Pen stylus and the project YOUM bendy screen innovative. Take the Galaxy Note Edge for example, this is a device that is new, fresh, and has never been done before. That doesn't mean it is a success, but who says innovation needs to hit a home run; the device is cutting... ahem, edge and that should be applauded.

Sony invite points to Xperia Z3 launch in the US

We just received an invite to a behind closed doors Sony event that will take place in New York City on the 9th October. While there is no information on the exact nature of the event, it is called "In Demand" and is likely going to be used for Sony to roll out its current batch of smartphones in the United States.

Samsung's smartphone future is hard to predict

Samsung has faced some tough times of late, an interesting thing considering this is a company that still makes billions of dollars and is still comfortably the number one smartphone vendor. The fact is though the future is not as smooth as it once was and there are plenty of unanswered questions within Samsung?s Korean HQ. When one of your own divisions explains that things are not going very well then it is probably time to start finding new ways to do things.

New update for Moto 360 solves Bluetooth issues

Motorola has had a busy September with the roll out of the new Moto X and Moto G smartphones, while the Moto 360 smartwatch has also landed of course. However, the company is not slowing down with a new DROID device on the way and the collaboration with Google on the new Nexus smartphone. This device has been discussed a lot in recent times and is known as the Nexus 6 or Nexus X, depending on the source.

Amazon offering $137 worth of free apps

Amazon's ecosystem may get knocked for having a lack of apps, but the truth is the company's store has a great many of the top titles, whether that be games or apps. The online retailer has today given users a great incentive to use their app store by putting $137 worth of titles for free, and there are some good ones too.
