It didn't come as a surprise but there were still gasps of excitement when Apple launched the Apple Watch at its event in Cupertino today. Yes, the smartwatch is not called the iWatch at all, but the Apple Watch is the company's first wearable and on the surface at least its software does set a new bar in this growing market, although the design may be a little more dividing. Let's take a look at this device in depth, but needless to say, without doing a full review everything you see here is based on first impressions and are certainly subject to change.

Yes, the iPhone 6 is the smartphone that will drive Apple's growth through this generation, but the company also added a new handset category by unveiling the iPhone 6 Plus. It is hardly a secret that Cupertino would be launching a large screen Phablet variant, but now it is in the flesh it is easier to see if the iPhone 6 Plus will be able to give large screen Android heavyweights a run for their money.

In probably the biggest tech launch of the year, Apple has rolled out the new iPhone 6, the company's new flagship device that comes with a larger 4.7-inch screen. Cupertino started the show by eschewing the usual boasts as Apple CEO Tim Cook said there was too much to go through in terms of launches, so he just said that in terms of the company "everything is fine".

Verizon to update the HTC One M8 to Android 4.4.3 Sept 10th

The HTC One M8 has been getting the bump to Android 4.4.3 over the last month, with handset variants all over the world receiving the update. In The US AT&T, T-Mobile , and Sprint have sorted out their updates, but in typical fashion Verizon is running late to the party. Big Red inexplicably delayed the roll out last month, but has now at least confirmed that Android 4.4.3 will arrive on its HTC One M8 variant on September 10th (tomorrow).

Sprint rolls out Android 4.4.4 for Galaxy Note 3

Sprint and Samsung have announced that the Galaxy Note 3 is getting a software update from Android 4.4.3 to 4.4.4, the latest release of Google's mobile platform. The patch was actually released on September 5th but is finding its way to devices now, available OTA (over the air), while Samsung has revealed the full list of changes.

The Best of the Best: the top device launched at IFA

As the dust settles at what was a busy IFA event in Berlin, we can take a look back and see what were the best products launched during last week. This year the choice was a little harder as smartwatches have made their presence felt, a new category no, but certainly this is the first time they have made a big splash at IFA. Although, we were surprised in the office how little wearable products featured in our discussion.
