Sprint adds Green ID pack to Sprint ID for Android

With the launch of the new eco-friendly Samsung Replenish, Sprint has also introduced a new ID pack for its Sprint ID customization app for Android phones and tablets. Called Green ID, the new pack will give users easy access to green news and eco-friendly information.

LightSquared's GPS interference issues under heavy review by FCC, senators

Senators Pat Roberts (R-Kan.) and Ben Nelson (D-Neb.) have written a letter to their colleagues with a plea to urge the FCC to pay close attention when reviewing LightSquared's upcoming wholesale LTE network, as LightSquared's satellite L-band spectrum (1.5-1.6GHz band) is very close to GPS spectrum. In other words, LightSquared's cell sites could create harmful interference problems with GPS, according to the GPS community.

Best Buy Apple iPad 2 promotion starting tomorrow

It appears that the Apple iPad 2 promotion rumors that have been coming out of Best Buy are about to bear fruit. Engadget has obtained what it believes to be an internal Best Buy document that describes some of the plans for an iPad 2 promotion that will begin tomorrow, April 17. The document claims that every store should have at least 3 Apple iPad 2 tablets in stock for the promotion, which will run week-long. The specifics of the promotion itself, such as any discounts or bundled accessories, are not given. As Engadget mentioned, tomorrow would probably be a good day to head to Best Buy if you are still trying to get your hands on an iPad 2.

Samsung releases Android 2.2 Froyo source code for Fascinate

Today in Samsung's Open Source Resource Center, we found the Android 2.2 Froyo source code for the Samsung Fascinate - a device that so far has not received a Froyo update. This won't mean much to your average Android user, but could indicate that Verizon may be pushing out an official Froyo update for the Fascinate soon. Android 2.2 Froyo update rolling out to BRAVO users now

Shortly after putting the call out for beta testers of the Android 2.2 Froyo update for the Motorola BRAVO on AT&T, Motorola has announced via Twitter that the final update is pushing out to BRAVO users now. The roll-out is happening in stages, and Motorola did not specify as to when it will be completed. The Android 2.2 Froyo update brings many enhancements to the BRAVO, including Adobe Flash Player support, Wireless Hotspot functionality, a task manager application, and various bug fixes. Users should receive a notification on their phones when the update is ready to be downloaded and installed.
