3G Apple iPad inching towards launch in China

According to the Dow Jones news wire, it appears that a 3G capable version of the Apple iPad has been approved by Chinese regulators for use in that country. The device, identified only as a "data terminal", supports both GSM and WCDMA networks, the same as those offered by the other 3G iPads sold throughout the world. China currently only has access to the Wi-Fi only iPad.

Google Offers to compete with Groupon

Having failed to make a deal to buy the group purchasing service Groupon for $6 billion, it seems that Google is now planning a move of its own. According to a fact sheet leaked to Mashable, Google is preparing to launch a competiting service called Google Offers. The service will send members a daily message with a locally usable coupon that can be purchased. Once enough members have purhcased the proposed deal, the deal becomes active, the purchases are finalized, and the coupons become usable. In a statement issued to Mashable, Google basically confirmed Offers' existence.
