Verizon expected to announce 4G smartphones, tablet this week

Apple expected to gross $2 billion in Apps in 2011

According to a Citibank in its US Internet Stock 2011 Playbook, Apple is expected to earn as much as $2 billion in gross revenue from its App Store. Research firm Gartner's estimates show that the total app market generated $4 bilion in 2010 and is expected to grow exponentially to $27 billion by 2013.

Verizon Wireless gobbling up iPhone internet domains

Just in case anyone needs more evidence that Apple's uberphone will soon be offered by Verizon, Evan Blass from PocketNow has revealed that Verizon Trademark Services LLC, parent company for Verizon.com and VerizonWireless.com, now owns iphoneverizon.com as well as iphoneforverizon.com. It seems as though the stars are aligning and soon Apple fans will be able to rejoice over a CDMA-packing iPhone.

Verizon to slash pricing of Samsung Galaxy Tab to $499.99?

It looks as though Verizon may be the first to offer a major price drop on its Samsung Galaxy Tab Android tablet. Currently the tablet is being offered for $599.99, but according to what is claimed to be leaked Verizon promotional material, the Tab should see a new sticker price of $499.99 soon. The Galaxy Tab offers a 7-inch WSVGA touchscreen display, a 1 GHz processor, a 3 megapixel rear and 1.3 megapixel front facing camera with video capability, as well as Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity. Samsung readying Android 2.2 Froyo update for Galaxy S series smartphones

Samsung USA took to its Twitter account to let users know that it is working on a "simple and reliable upgrade" to get it's Galaxy S smartphones to Google's Android 2.2 Froyo operating system. Samsung offers multiple Galaxy S smartphones in the U.S. including the T-Mobile Vibrant, the Verizon Fascinate, the AT&T Captivate, the Epic 4G from Sprint, as well as the US Cellular Mesmerize. Currently, Samsung has sold over 9.3 Galaxy S devcices globally.
