Motorola camera app now available in Google Play Posted: 31 Oct 2013 10:21 AM PDT Motorola has released its camera app to Google Play, allowing Moto X users to gain faster access to camera updates. Motorola in recent weeks has been improving its Moto X camera through software updates applied through system updates for phones tied to carriers. By releasing the camera into Google Play, the company can more readily apply fixes and updates without the need to wait for carrier testing and approval. Leap stockholders agree to AT&T merger Posted: 31 Oct 2013 09:20 AM PDT Leap Wireless, the prepaid service provider that operates Cricket Wireless, has gained the approval of its shareholders to sell the company to AT&T. Leap reached a deal to sell to AT&T for $1.2 billion this summer, and 99 percent of its stockholders approved the sale today. The transaction still requires approval from the FCC and Department of Justice, which could arrive in 4 to 6 months. If approved, AT&T would gain Leap's wireless spectrum, 5 million customers, and 3,400 employees. Read the full story here. |
