Sprint resumes blocking prepaid MVNOs from activating its latest and most popular phones

It appears that prepaid customers of MVNO's that operate through Sprint will no longer be able to activate some of the top phones on the network. Sprint has begun blacklisting phones from operating on its prepaid networks.

European flyers will also be able to use mobile devices during takeoff

The FAA last month changed its guidelines in order to permit the use of smartphones and tablets during more phases of flights within the United States. The FAA's European counterpart, the EASA, plans to institute a similar rule change for airlines in Europe.

Finnish smartphone maker Jolla has confirmed the launch date for the smartphones running Sailfish OS, an operating system that emerged from the ashes of MeeGo and recently announced compatibility for Android apps. Jolla also detailed how it release its first smartphones.

Isis Mobile payments now available nationwide for AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon smartphones

Isis, the mobile payment joint-venture by three of the largest carriers in the United States, has officially gone nationwide today. After several delays and a lengthy testing phase in only two markets, consumers can now pay for items with their smartphones at thousands of locations throughout the US.
