Amazon says Kindle Fire is now sold out after capturing 22% of tablet market

Amazon has made a pair of significant claims today. The online retailer declared that it has sold out of its supply of the Kindle Fire, its "most successful product launch" ever. Amazon also claimed that the Kindle Fire has accounted for 22 percent of tablet sales in the United States, though the company failed to provide any sales figures or cite any third-party estimates that would explain its market share claims.

Google Now adds movies, alerts, and manual selection of sports teams

Google Now, the personalized search feature introduced in Android 4.1, has been updated to provide an experience closer to what Google demonstrated when the product launched. An update to the Google Search Android app adds new cards for movie show times, public alerts for weather emergencies, support for Korea, and the ability to declare your favorite sports franchise. The update is supposed to lists cards for movie show times, but many users report problems with Google Now continuing to show standard web searches. The app supports adding sports teams, though only for select franchises and clubs in the MLB, NBA, NFL, NHL, and European soccer.
