Apple sues HTC over alleged abuse of 4G LTE essential patents

Apple may have lost its case with Motorola by default when the judge dismissed the entire case this week, but it isn't giving up in its efforts against HTC. This week, Apple filed a suit against the Taiwanese company alleging that HTC was abusing standards essential patents by not offering them under fair, reasonable, and non-discriminatory (FRAND) terms.

Apple, Motorola case dismissed in its entirety by Judge Posner

Judge Richard Posner of the U.S. District Court in Illinois issued a ruling late yesterday evening stating that the patent infringement case between Motorola and Apple will be dismissed in its entirety with no injunctions to be issued. Judge Posner had preemptively dismissed the case a couple of weeks ago, but then gave the two sides another chance to prove that they were deserving of being awarded damages for the alleged patent infringements.
