SK Telecom has announced that it is releasing Apple's iPhone 4 this month. The company will be offering a range of rate plans for iPhone customers, with full pricing details for the iPhone 4 to be announced soon. The phone will be officially released on March 16, with pre-orders starting at 7 a.m. on March 9 at its official online store. SK Telecom is Korea's largest wireless provider.

Foursquare updating iPhone, Android apps to 3.0

Telus has announced the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S Fascinate 4G. Running Android 2.2 Froyo with a promised upgrade to 2.3 Gingerbread, Telus claims that it is the fastest smartphone available in Canada, with download speeds of up to 21 megabits per second. The company professes that this is 50 percent faster than any other smartphone currently available. Pricing and availability have yet to be announced.

Adobe releases Flash-to-HTML5 tool for iOS and other platforms

Adobe has released an experimental tool that converts Flash-based content into HTML5. This will allow devices such as Apple's iPhone and iPad to view the content in their native Safari browser, which does not support Flash. Adobe has given the tool the code-name Wallaby and warns that not all Flash content can be converted into HTML5. Wallaby is in beta and is available to developers now.

Deutsche Telekom and Sprint Nextel could possibly be in talks of a possible acquisition of T-Mobile USA by Sprint. Bloomberg sources claim that Deutsche Telekom could sell all or just part of its business in the U.S., although a deal has not been reached and may never be reached. A merger would combine the third and fourth largest carriers in the U.S., behind Verizon and AT&T.

ViewSonic has announced the availability of its ViewPad 10, a unique dual-boot tablet that supports both Windows 7 and the older Android 1.6 Donut OS. Powered by an Intel Atom processor clocked at 1.66GHz, the ViewPad 10 will allow users to switch between a Windows environment or an Android environment on demand. As the name suggests, it is equipped with a 10-inch screen with a 1024 x 600 pixel resolution. The ViewPad 10 is available now for $599 with a 16GB SSD and Windows 7 Home Premium or for $679 with a 32GB SSD and Windows 7 Professional.

Spotify tops 1 million subscribers

Spotify, an unlimited streaming music service with clients for iPhone, Android, Windows Phone, Symbian, and Palm, has announced that it currently has over 1 million paid subscribers, out of 6.67 million total users. Spotify has had difficulties making deals with U.S. record labels and therefore is only available to European consumers. Verizon working through difficulties with LTE smartphones

Despite the numerous delays that have postponed the release of LTE phones, Verizon's CTO has stated that it is still on track to release the devices in the first half of 2011. He went on to say that the company is working through the issues presented with new technologies and that expectations are still being met. The HTC Thunderbolt, which was anticipated to be released a few times already, is still expected to be the first LTE phone on Verizon's network, though the CTO did not specify that to be the case.
