Google Drive for Android and iOS adds spreadsheet editing Posted: 28 Nov 2012 01:19 PM PST Google Drive users will be happy to know that they can now create and edit spreadsheets using the Google Drive app for Android and Apple iOS. Google notes that now is a good time to maintain a list of gifts for the holiday shopping season, but Drive can obviously be used just as effectively for work-related purposes, and it supports collaboration between multiple users. The update improves formatting when copying text from one Google document to another. The Android version can now create a home screen shortcut to a specific Drive file or edit text stored within a table. Verizon and Samsung peg Nov. 29 as release date for Galaxy Note II Posted: 28 Nov 2012 10:47 AM PST Samsung announced in September that it would release the Galaxy Note II on five carriers in the U.S., but only four have the large phone available for sale today. Verizon Wireless will make carrer availability 5-for-5 tomorrow when it begins offering the Galaxy Note II for $299.99 when purchased with a two-year agreement. The Galaxy Note II, which we gave high marks in our review, will be sold in Marble White or Titanium Grey colors. Verizon customers who pre-ordered the Galaxy Note II should begin receiving notifications once their device has been shipped. Read the full story here. |

YouSendIt Windows Phone 8 app arrives for Nokia Lumia devices Posted: 28 Nov 2012 06:14 AM PST File-sharing service YouSendIt has released its official Windows Phone 8 app, but only Nokia Windows Phone 8 handsets can access it. YouSendIt enables sharing large files between businesses and co-workers, including everything from documents to photos. The app can send files from the phone or manage content stored in the cloud. It supports synchronization between desktops and mobile devices, signing documents, and tracking which participants are able to access a file. YouSendIt offers 2GB of free storage, but additional storage can be purchased for $9.99 to $14.99 per month. The app is available now in the Nokia collection in the Windows Phone Store.
