Leap Wireless reports 2009 Q4 earnings, adds record 1.1 million new customers

Leap Wireless today announced its fourth quarter 2009 earnings. The carrier's service revenues in the fourth quarter were up 19.3 percent over the year quarter to $547 million. It gained 298,000 net customer additions in the fourth quarter and a record 1.1 million in the year. The carrier now has 4.95 million end-of-period customers, a 29 percent increase from its 2008 3.84 million customer base.

MetroPCS reports 2009 Q4 earnings, 1.3 million net subscriber additions

Today MetroPCS announced its fourth quarter 2009 earnings. The carrier saw a core market subscriber growth of 11 percent during the year and added 1.3 million net additions in 2009 for a total of 6.6 million subscribers. MetroPCS is planning an initial launch of its 4G long-term evolution (LTE) network in the second half of 2010.
