Sprint slowly gaining momentum; loses fewer customers in the fourth quarter

Sprint released its Q4 2009 earnings today. The carrier still reported customer losses, but retained a great deal more. Its net loss was an improvement quarter-over-quarter and year-over-year.

Fraunhofer introduces two new audio technologies for Android

Fraunhofer IIS, the company behind the MP3 format, today announced two new audio technologies, MPEG-4 HE-AAC v2 and MPEG Surround, for the Android platform. MPEG-4 HE-AAC v2 is typically used for digital television and internet radio sttreaming over 3G and WiFi. MPEG Surround will bring multi-channel support to devices and runs on top of the HE-AAC codec. The new codecs will enable higher quality sound in applications like Mobile-TV services and audio/video streaming.
