Google Play Movies adds info cards to identify actors, films, and songs

Google Play Movies has an important update for anyone who has ever watched a movie and struggled to remember the name of that guy who was in that thing. Play Movies now feature Google Now-style info cards that can identify the name of an actor, find relatable movies he or she has starred, and even point out the name of songs playing in the background. Not all movies have the feature enabled, but when watching on a tablet in the U.S. running Android 4.0 or later, Play Movies can be tapped to reveal added information about the film. Gmail for iOS update adds swipe gestures to switch between emails

Gmail for Apple iOS has been updated to shorten the amount of time it takes to switch between messages. Apple iPhone and iPad users can now swipe left or right to navigate through their messages, removing the need to return to the inbox to view email. Just as Android users have long been able to, swiping left goes to a more recent message and swiping right advances to an older one. Gmail for iOS also adds the ability to tap on a message to batch archive, delete, or label multiple messages.
