T-Mobile updates Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich

Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich had already been available for several months when T-Mobile released the Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G. Epitomizing the "better late than never" axiom, T-Mobile today began updating the phone from Android 2.3 Gingerbread to Android 4.0.4. The firmware upgrade adds several software improvements and new features, as well as a few bug fixes . Galaxy S Blaze 4G owners can download the update through the Samsung Kies PC/Mac software; they can also download trigger a download on the phone by pressing Menu > Settings > Software.

Visa and RBS launch program to bring NFC mobile payments to the iPhone

EE adds Samsung Galaxy Note II LTE to lineup of upcoming 4G phones

EE will be the first operator to launch a 4G LTE network in the UK, and the carrier formerly known as Everything Everywhere will release a variety of phones in conjunction with the new network. In addition to offering phones from HTC, Huawei, and Nokia, EE announced today that it will also sell the Samsung Galaxy Note II LTE model. The Galaxy Note II, which has a 5.5-inch screen and a customized version of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean software, will go on sale October 15. It will be one of many phones offered ahead of EE's planned October 30 LTE network launch. Orange and T-Mobile customers who wish to purchase a phone today can choose between the Huawei Ascend P1, HTC One XL, and Samsung Galaxy S III.

UK's first 4G LTE network will launch October 30 when EE goes live in 10 cities

EE has confirmed that it will launch the first 4G network in the UK later this month. Following approval from Ofcom to refarm 2G spectrum and deliver 4G service ahead of its rivals, EE will flip the switch on its LTE network on October 30, 2012.
