ISIS Mobile Wallet app appears in Google Play Store

The ISIS mobile payment venture between AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon was expected to have launched in the summer, but the pilot program was delayed for an unknown period. Testing appears to have resumed now that an ISIS Android app has appeared in Google Play.

Sprint expected to buy Clearwire, but not until finalizing SoftBank deal

After SoftBank announced that it would pay $20.1 billion to purchase a 70 percent stake in Sprint, analysts and stock traders immediately speculated that Sprint would attempt to acquire Clearwire. That's not going to happen in the immediate future, but there's a chance it may occur next year.

Apple invites media to see "a little more" at iPad mini event next week

As expected, Apple announced that it will hold a press event next week, during which it may unveil a smaller version of the iPad. Apple has sent out invites to an October 23 event to take place in San Jose at 10 AM PT. On the invite, the company teases that "We've got a little more to show you," which is deliberately left open for interpretation. It could mean that Apple is hosting yet another press event following the iPhone 5 launch, but it is more likely a reference to the company launching a smaller version of the iPad. Rumors suggest Apple will announce a thinner, lighter, and more portable iPad with a 7.85-inch screen.

Samsung Galaxy Note II for Sprint launches Oct. 25 for $299

Sprint has announced that it will begin selling the Samsung Galaxy Note II on October 25. The Now Network has revealed that it will sell Samsung's phone-meets-tablet device for $299.99 on a two-year agreement beginning next week. The Galaxy Note II will be available in Marble White or Titanium Gray color options. The phone will also support Sprint's 4G LTE network, which is currently available in 24 cities and expected to be in about 125 markets at some point in 2013.
