Dropbox adds photo and video gallery to Android app

Dropbox has made a concerted effort to improve the way it handles media, and the latest change to the cloud storage service is to include a dedicated tab for viewing photos and videos. Sandwiched between the main folder and Favorites tabs is a new media tab that shows a gallery of all the photos and videos that users have uploaded to Dropbox. The content is organized according to the date it was uploaded, and there's even a link to change the automatic photo upload feature. The new media tab takes the place of what used to be the upload button, so users will have to upload files by pressing Menu > "Upload here" on the top ActionBar. Download Dropbox for Android

A consumer research company reports that despite the embarrassing Apple Maps debacle, most iOS 6 users have not experienced any problems, and the controversy has not negatively affected opinions of the iPhone 5.

Sprint adds San Francisco and 21 other cities to list of upcoming LTE markets

Last month, Sprint published a list of more than 100 cities in which it will launch LTE. San Francisco, a major hub of tech talent and users, was curiously absent from the list, but it's the leading city in the latest group of markets slated to receive 4G LTE.

How many people own cell phones? It's difficult to get a precise estimate on the number of individuals who own a mobile phone, but the International Telecommunications Union reports that there are about 6 billion cell phone subscriptions in the world.

Amazon confirms it doesn't make money selling Kindle Fire HD or other devices
