Senators question Sprint's deal with Huawei, cite security concerns

A group of eight U.S. senators are asking the Obama administration to look into whether or not Sprint Nextel should be able to purchase and use networking equipment from China's Huawei, alleging security issues with the company.

Sprint offering free femtocell to customers with coverage issues

According to a Sprint representative, Sprint has started issuing free 3G voice and data capable Airave femtocells to customers that have "specific in-building coverage issues." Femtocells act as mini cell towers that connect cell phones to the carrier's network over the user's broadband internet connection. The original Airave did not offer 3G data capabilities and sold for $99.99 up front and $4.99 per month.
