| Samsung working on Captivate, Vibrant aGPS fix Posted: 04 Aug 2010 05:19 AM PDT Some users have reported that the aGPS functionality on their Samsung Captivate and Vibrant devices wasn't working properly. Samsung recently issued an update noting that it plans to issue a software fix for the problem as soon as possible. The official statement from Samsung is: "Samsung Mobile is aware that under certain conditions, the GPS on our U.S. Galaxy S devices may not be meeting performance expectations. | Cricket Wireless introduces all-inclusive rate plans Posted: 04 Aug 2010 04:58 AM PDT Cricket Wireless recently announced new monthly service plans, including a $35 basic plan that includes unlimited voice and text, and a $45 monthly plan that includes unlimited voice, text, mobile web, data backup, and navigation services. Cricket also introduced a $55 Android plan that includes unlimited voice, text, mobile web, and data backup, as well as a $60 BlackBerry plan that offers similar features. In tandem with the announcement, Cricket also began offering $40, $50, and $60 mobile broadband plans. The carrier also announced that it will carry the Android powered Sanyo ZIO by Kyocera and the BlackBerry Curve 8530. Read the full story here. |

The newest build supports media sync, which allows HTC Wildfire owners to sync music playlists, pictures, and more directly to their device using a USB cable. HTC Media Sync 3.0 is available from the downloads section of HTC's website. | AT&T BlackBerry 9800 slider smartphone approved by FCC Posted: 03 Aug 2010 05:17 AM PDT The BlackBerry 9800 slider with AT&T bands was approved by the FCC recently, according to Engadget. The FCC documents reveal that the device was labeled "BlackBerry smartphone model RCY71UW." Specs include 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, and the appropriate AT&T frequency bands for 3G connectivity.
