| Google launches new YouTube Mobile site for iPhone and Android smartphones Posted: 08 Jul 2010 05:04 AM PDT Google has announced a new version of its YouTube Mobile site, located at m.youtube.com. The updated site is faster than the previous one and includes a more touch friendly interface. It also offers search query suggestions and the ability to favorite, like, and unlike videos. | Qik updates HTC EVO 4G 2-way video chat client Posted: 08 Jul 2010 04:45 AM PDT Qik has updated its HTC EVO 4G client to version 3.54. The latest version of Qik, which allows HTC EVO 4G owners to hold video chats, includes bug fixes for connectivity issues. It also offers better performance in low network conditions. Version 3.54 no longer requires SMS verification, and video chats aren't automatically archived for playback, as they were in the past. Qik for HTC EVO 4G is available in the Android Market for free. | Apple beefs up App Store security after developer fraud incident Posted: 07 Jul 2010 02:22 PM PDT Following the violation of the developer program license agreement that saw Vietnamese programmer Thuat Nguyen blocked from its App Store for fraud, Apple has beefed up its security in its iTunes application store. Apple has said that will now ask users more often for CCV codes during credit card purchases. The CCV code is found on the back of most credit cards and is three or four digits long. The new update can be downloaded from m.skype.com on a compatible handset or from the Ovi store directly. The standard Family Talk plan with 3,000 minutes will set you back $79.99 without an annual contract, or $99.99 per month with a 2-year contract and subsidized phone prices. | Best Buy Connect mobile broadband website launches Posted: 07 Jul 2010 07:15 AM PDT Best Buy has launched a part of its Best Buy Connect website, which will soon offer Best Buy branded mobile broadband plans. According to the site's FAQ page, there are 24 month, 12 month, and no-contract options for 5GB or 500MB, and the no-contract option also offers a 250MB option. Pricing ranges from $29.99 to $59.99 depending on the option you choose, and the early termination fees for the 2-year and 1-year plans are $175 and $125, respectively. Despite early rumors of a 4G WiMAX option, it doesn't appear that those plans will be available at launch. Read the full story here. |

The Android client is available in the Android Market and runs on OS 2.0 and higher. The BlackBerry client supports the BlackBerry Bold 900 with OS 4.6, the BlackBerry Bold 9700 with OS 5.0, the Curve with OS versions 4.5 and 4.6, the Curve 850 with OS 5.0, and the Tour with OS 4.7.
