Microsoft merging KIN team with Windows Phone 7, cancels European KIN launch

Today Microsoft told CNET that it no longer has plans to sell its KIN ONE and KIN TWO devices in Europe, and that it will merge the existing KIN team into its Windows Phone 7 team.

Sprint updating the HTC EVO 4G - again

Sprint has announced that the update for its EVO 4G smartphone is once again available and that all issues have been addressed. Earlier this week, Sprint released an over-the-air (OTA) update, 1.47.651.1, for the newly launched HTC device but halted the update when users started reporting that it was causing their phones to be bricked. The new update is expected to improve WiFi performance and Exchange syncing.

ABI Research: mobile subscriptions to exceed 5 billion by Q4 2010

Motorola taking more time on CLIQ Android 2.1 upgrade

Today Motorola made a statement in regards to the Motorola CLIQ Android 2.1 upgrade. The statement said: "For those asking for an update regarding a software upgrade on CLIQ in the U.S., we've made a decision to take more time on the release to optimize the experience in some key areas. We will continue to work to deliver it as soon as possible and apologize that we have been unable to provide an upgrade to these users in Q2 as planned. We are working hard to provide an upgrade to Android 2.1 as soon as we can. Our consumers' experience is our first priority and we will provide an upgrade when we can deliver the best possible user experience."

T-Mobile USA LG Sentio touchscreen phone available today for $69.99

Today T-Mobile announced the pricing for its LG Sentio touchscreen feature phone. The device will cost $9 per month for 20 months with T-Mobile's Even More Plus plan, or $69.99 after a $50 mail-in-rebate with a two-year T-Mobile contract.

eBay for BlackBerry application now available

Today eBay and Research in Motion (RIM) announced the official eBay application for BlackBerry smartphones. The application was originally available in the BlackBerry App World Test Center as a beta product and is now an official release that allows users to view scheduled items for sale, archive items, re-list sales, and more. The application is available for free in North America, Australia, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the U.K. in BlackBerry App World.

Sony Ericsson pushing out Xperia X10 software update

Today Sony Ericsson announced a few details on its Xperia X10 software update that the company has begun to roll out to devices in some markets. The update improves general performance, speed, and responsiveness of the Xperia X10, specifically in the camera UI and messaging applications. Sony Ericsson is also adding a free backup and restore applications.

Cisco outs Cius Android tablet, 4G support coming later

Hulu Plus now available for iPhone

The Hulu Plus mobile application is now available in the iTunes App Store as a free download. The free application provides a bit of free content, but otherwise requires a Hulu Plus subscription that costs $9.99 per month and is only available to a test market of invited users, for now.
