Samsung Announces Exynos 8890 Processor

Samsung's Exynos 7420 has been consistently the best performing chipset on the market this year, but it has possibly met its match with the launch of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 and the imminent unveiling of Huawei's Kirin 950. A day after Qualcomm unveiled the 820 Samsung has responded by announcing the new Exynos 8 Octa 8890 chipset.

Firefox Browser Lands on iOS

Users have been able to run Firefox on Android for some time, but those on Apple's iOS have been waiting for the browser to land on that platform. Mozilla has been running a beta app on iOS recently and now the company has officially rolled out Firefox for the platform, meaning iPhone and iPad users can now use the browser.

Xiaomi Mi 5 Passes Benchmark Software

The ball is finally moving on Xiaomi's Mi 5 flagship handset. It has been nearly 18 months since the company launched the Mi 4, which in smartphone terms is an age. The Chinese giant has been holding out for Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 820 processor, but now that chipset is launched Xiaomi can press ahead with its belated flagship.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Unpacked Event Scheduled for Feb 21st, 2016

Samsung has confirmed its next Unpacked event very early, saying that its 2016 Unpacked event will be held on February 21st, 2016. The event will almost certainly be used for the company to lift the curtain on its Galaxy S7, the handset that will replace the current Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge as the company's flagship device.

Apple CEO Tim Cook takes Aim at Surface Book

Apple launched the iPad Pro today and CEO Tim Cook took the time to offer a dig at the Pro's biggest rival, Microsoft. Speaking Philosophical Society at Trinity College in Ireland, Cook gave a timely assessment of Microsoft's Surface Book, a laptop/tablet that Redmond launched last month.

BlackBerry Priv Sold Out on Amazon

For many, the Priv is the last throw of the hardware dice for BlackBerry; if it is not a success it is thought that the company will pull out of the hardware market. The Canadian giant has denied that repeatedly, but nevertheless the Android backed Priv seems to be a handset that will define whether BlackBerry has a future in hardware. With that in mind we imagine CEO John Chen and co will be delighted that the handset has already sold out on Amazon.

Xiaomi Talking with LG to Use Company's OLED Screen Tech

Chinese company Xiaomi is reportedly going to ditch LCD panels in favor of OLED screens next year and the company will select LG as the supplier of those displays. A report in Korea suggests that the two companies are currently in negotiation for Xiaomi to adopt LG?s components for OLED supplies.

Apple's giant iPad Pro is now available to buy the United States. The 12.9-inch slate is Apple's most decked out tablet and is the company's take on a true PC alternative. Launched two months ago, the iPad Pro is now available in a number of configuration and with optional accessories such as the Smart Keyboard and Apple Pencil.
