2014 Moto G gets Android 5.0.2

Motorola has announced that many of its 2013-2014 smartphones will be getting the bump to Android 5.0 Lollipop in the coming weeks. However, some of its devices already have the newest software from Google and in fact the 2014 Moto G is already getting up to speed with the freshest Lollipop builds, 5.0.2.

Samsung Galaxy S5 gets Android 5.0 Lollipop in the UK

Some region specific models of Samsung's Galaxy S5 flagship smartphones have already started getting the Android 5.0 Lollipop update, Spain and Russia for example. Now the biggest European market, the United Kingdom, can also be added to the growing list as users of the GS5 in that country will now be getting the latest and greatest Android build.

Motorola has been one of the quickest companies to react to the release of Android 5.0 Lollipop with the company already rolling out the software to a number of its smartphones. However, there are still some Motorola's from 2013 and 2014 rocking Android 4.4 KitKat and waiting for the bump to Lollipop, but luckily the company has those handsets covered.

UK PM David Cameron Targets Whatsapp and Other Messaging Services

The fall out of the atrocious terrorist attacks on Charlie Hebdo in Paris, France has reached the mobile space with British Prime Minister David Cameron taking aim at messaging services such as Whatsapp. He says that encrypted messaging services should be blocked because they do not allow authorities to read them if they need to.

Two Galaxy S6 Devices and a Round Faced Smartwatch

A brand new reports seems to add more weight to the rumor that Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S6 smartphone flagship will be accompanied by the Galaxy S6 Edge. That second handset will have a folded second screen like the Note Edge and has been oft rumored in the S6 development. Aside from that, it also seems that the talked about round faced Samsung smartwatch will also arrive alongside the flagship handset.

OnePlus One Sold 1 Million Units in 2014

The problems OnePlus had through 2014 were well documented, with the Chinese company struggling to roll out its OnePlus One smartphone in significant numbers. The company created an invite based system where it could basically make handsets to order and not carry large amounts of inventory. That helped keep costs down and demand high, and it seems it is paying off as the company said it sold 1 million OnePlus One units through last year.
