The device is the Chinese company's latest mid-range effort, a market the giant has lost ground on in its home market due to the rise and surge of Xiaomi devices. The images reveal a classic Chinese design, but as this is Huawei it sparks with a touch of quality too and is certainly not an ugly handset. Read the full story here. |
| Second Benchmark Confirms Samsung Galaxy S6 Specs Posted: 10 Dec 2014 03:02 PM PST  Samsung is not doing a good job of keeping its Galaxy S6 under wraps. The company's next smartphone flagship is probably a few months from launch but the early working prototypes are showing up on benchmarks, with the second occurrence of this yesterday. | Acer Coming Back to Windows Phone in 2015 Posted: 10 Dec 2014 01:52 PM PST  Acer is a long term Microsoft partner and has been building Windows PCs for many years, but the Taiwanese company pulled out of the Windows Phone market and has been releasing Android devices. Microsoft's WP software has come on steadily over the last few years, but it still lags behind other platforms in terms of overall quality, although I imagine the Windows fans will argue that point. Tis the season of giving, you are meant to receive gifts, not pay for them; although OnePlus seems to disagree as the company is giving us all a bit of a back handed present. | T-Mobile Intros New Simple Choice Unlimited Family Plan Posted: 10 Dec 2014 06:40 AM PST  T-Mobile is continuing to go to war with other carriers with aggressive pricing and plans, the latest of which is the Simple Choice family plan. The company found that 40% of customers are worried about going over their monthly data, so the Uncarrier created this plan that gives two lines unlimited data per month for $100. | Vivo X5 Max, New Thinnest Smartphone Ever Posted: 10 Dec 2014 05:57 AM PST  The Oppo R5 was launched last month as the worlds thinnest ever smartphone, but I wrote at the time that the title would probably be short lived. And so it has proved as we now have a new device that will carry the accolade as the thinnest smartphone on the market.
