LG G3 Getting Android 5.0 in South Korea this Week Posted: 24 Nov 2014 11:51 AM PST LG said recently that its G3 flagship would be getting the bump to Android 5.0 Lollipop sometime this month, making it among the first third party smartphones to get the update. The good news is that is seems the roll out of Google's latest and greatest will start for the G3 this week, with the South Korean variant reported to be getting the update by Friday. iOS App Downloads Up 42% to All-time High Posted: 24 Nov 2014 10:24 AM PST App marketing firm Fiksu has revealed its latest data regarding app downloads through October and found that the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus along with iOS 8 accounted for a huge jump in downloads to an all-time high. The new reports shows that there has been a 42% increase from September for the top 200 free iOS apps that the company tracked through October. Those applications accounted for 7.8 million downloads, a 39% increase from this time last year. Read the full story here. |
Samsung Crisis: Galaxy S5 Has Not Matched S4 Sales Posted: 24 Nov 2014 09:58 AM PST Even the most diehard of Apple fan should know that the iPhone is not head and shoulders better than any other smartphone. We could argue the finer details sure, but what sets it apart is appeal and then in turn sales. The only other device that has been able to live with the iPhone in recent years has been the Samsung Galaxy S flagship, but much like Apple's handset, the S series device is just another smartphone when you strip away its massive success. Noted Analyst Predicts 71 Million iPhones Sold in Q4 Posted: 24 Nov 2014 05:29 AM PST Apple's iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus arrived in September to much fanfare and instantly began selling like proverbial hotcakes. The new devices crushed sales records through their launch window as Cupertino's year of growth continued with stellar third quarter results.
